Role Overview:
The Project 2030 HQ SACT Fit for Purpose Specialist is responsible for leading and coordinating the strategic transformation initiatives within NATO’s Allied Command Transformation (ACT) as part of the broader NATO 2030 agenda. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that NATO’s headquarters and associated structures are fully aligned with future operational demands and strategic objectives, driving modernization efforts across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Transformation Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of initiatives under the NATO 2030 project, particularly focusing on ensuring that the Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) is fit for future purposes. This includes aligning HQ operations with NATO’s long-term strategic vision and adapting to emerging challenges.
  • Change Management: Facilitate and manage organizational changes required to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of HQ SACT. This involves working closely with various stakeholders across NATO to ensure smooth transitions and the successful adoption of new practices and technologies.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including military personnel, national representatives, and industry experts, to gather insights and drive consensus on transformation initiatives. Foster a collaborative environment to support the implementation of Project 2030 goals.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic projects related to HQ SACT’s transformation. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with NATO’s broader strategic objectives.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular updates and comprehensive reports on the progress of Project 2030 initiatives. Ensure that all project documentation is maintained according to NATO’s standards and is accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for further enhancements in HQ SACT’s structure and processes. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adaptability within the command.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in strategic planning, business administration, organizational development, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in strategic planning, change management, or organizational development within a military or international organization context. Experience with NATO or similar defense organizations is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Familiarity with NATO’s strategic planning processes and transformation initiatives is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and drive change across diverse teams.
  • Clearance: A current SECRET security clearance is required
